After I attend the Stoker Weekend/World Horror Convention in Portland, Oregon May 8-11th, I’ll be heading down to San Francisco for the next few days, ending up at the Nebula Awards (for Saturday only) in San Jose.

I’ll post my WHC/Stoker weekend schedule once I have it, but if you’re in SF May 13th, I hope you’ll come over to Borderlands Bookstore that evening.

Borderlands Books, 866 Valencia Street, San Francisco CA 94110 (map)
We are delighted to host the esteemed, talented, and much-awarded Ellen Datlow for an informal chat in the bookstore. A bit more detail from her website: “[Ellen] has been editing science fiction, fantasy, and horror short fiction for almost thirty years. She was fiction editor of OMNI Magazine and SCIFICTION and has edited more than fifty anthologies, including the horror half of the long-running The Year’s Best Fantasy and Horror. She currently acquire short stories for Tor.com.” Her most recent anthologies are AFTER: NINETEEN STORIES OF APOCALYPSE AND DYSTOPIA (co-edited with Terri Windling) and LOVECRAFT’S MONSTERS. April 4, 2014 by Ellen Datlow Leave a Comment

I’ve been relatively quiet on social media these last few weeks as I was working on two original anthologies, both due around the same time. I’ve finally handed in Nightmare Carnival, which features fifteen new stories about carnivals and circuses. Katherine Dunn, the author of the classic  Geek Love, graciously agreed to provide an Introduction.  The cover art is below. The names on the cover might very well be different.  The book will be out this fall from Dark Horse and you can pre-order it on Amazon and Bn.com

I’m back and updating my website (I hope)

April 2, 2014 by Ellen Datlow Leave a Comment

For those of you following me on facebook and twitter you probably already know that I’ve got several new anthologies coming out in 2014.  So it’s past time for me to update my website and start blogging.

My friend and savior Matt Kressel is looking over my shoulder while I create this, my very first post on my blog.

This will be an ongoing process (and first I finish my two in -progress anthologies).

More, tk.
